To celebrate the start of the New Year, I thought I would perform a “quick” review of what happened last year, in 2024.
And, well… If I am being completely honest, not much actually happened. I mean, I did become an uncle. That has been a fun experience overall. And I started taking coffee more seriously (because I was given a pour-over coffee set). I went back to college, too…only to realize that I wasn’t missing out on as much as I thought I was.
All of that, and I discovered a new love for photography. Oh, and I finally started getting into pocket notebooks. Finally! But a majority of the year’s highlights happened near the end of the year. Starting around Thanksgiving time, mostly. My niece started walking and talking a bit. I mean, it’s still just incomprehensible gibberish. BUT! It’s a start and I really think she’ll start making sense and forming actual words sooner than any of us could imagine. Because, not to brag but, she is kind of smart.
Other than that though, it has been a relatively smooth and simple year. Sure, there have been some complications throughout the year. But nothing too major that really sticks out or anything like that.
Admittedly, I did not achieve as much as I would have liked to achieve. Personally speaking. But that’s okay. 2024 was, basically, an incubation year for me. A year full of growth and self-reflection. It was a much needed break from all the chaos that has plagued me for the past four years (life has been hectic since 2020 – for better and for worse).
So yeah, while it may not have been as exciting as previous years or anything. It has still been an eventful, productive year overall. And I, for one, am looking forward to what 2025 has to offer.
