Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip (Review – PS5)

Have you ever wanted to drive your car into outer space!?

No? Well… Now you can live out that fantasy in Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip. A charming open-world collect-a-thon that was developed by snekflat (the same team that worked on Wuppo – which was an interesting metroidvania of sorts).

Let’s not waste too much time here. Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip is a good game. It only takes around 7-10 hours to do and see everything the game has to offer, so it’s a quick game to finish. If you were to just power through though, you can probably beat it in about an hour or two. But this is definitely a game that encourages going for the 100% completion.

In Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip, you play as Terry. Terry is trying to get a car so that they can drive it into outer space. Why? It’s never very clear. Until the end. So, I won’t spoil it or anything. But I was surprised to figure it out. It was clever, silly, and, honestly, a bit deep. Definitely worth it overall.

Many have compared the game to Grand Theft Auto. Which, while I can understand some of the comparisons, does a disservice to Tiny Terry as a whole. I think the better way to describe it is, like… It reminded me of Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 meets Crazy Taxi, more or less. And no, I will not elaborate further. Play the game for yourself and I think you’ll see what I mean.

Anyway! A lot of this game’s charm relies on shock-factor. Hence why I am being a bit vague about the whole thing. And I think at around $20 (USD)… It’s well worth taking the trip. Even though it isn’t a very long trip, it sure is a memorable one!

Recommendation Level: MODERATE (8.5 out of 10)
