An excellent racing game, perfect for fans of the classic Spy Hunter games. With a fun visual presentation.
Normally, I would hold off on praising the game until about midway through the article. But this game is special. I have not had this much fun with a game in quite some time. And every time I return to it, I am reminded of how much fun it truly is. It is an excellent racing game, perfect for fans of the classic Spy Hunter games. With a fun visual presentation.

Despite all my praise for this awesome gem of a game, I have ran into a few issues. The game has crashed on me, at least once. That, and the final stretch of the game is becoming rather repetitive. Perhaps there is such a thing as too much content?
I am at the point in the game now where all that I have left to do is get first place on the Agent Leaderboards. Not particularly a hard task, mind you. But man…is it tedious! Speaking of, I also have to destroy “x” amount of enemies with a specific weapon. A weapon that rarely shows up in a majority of the game’s levels. But as soon as I do that, I should have the platinum trophy.
And yet, I am continuously having fun. While Agent Intercept is lacking in engagement in the later half, I think there is still enough variation to have fun with. If that makes sense.
Now, I know the platinum isn’t really the best indicator of game completion. But this game’s trophy list awards you for perfecting every level anyway. There are some miscellaneous trophies, nothing too crazy. And since I am already trying to perfect each level as is, I might as well go for the platinum. Yeah?
Still… In doing this. In trying to see everything that the game has to offer, I am beginning to become bored by the amount of repetition here. There are only so many levels in the game itself. The different modes only provide variations to the levels, though they do not provide enough of a variation to keep the game feeling engaging.

Like, I do wish there were one or two more environments to explore. Even if it is just a visual difference, I think that would help to make the game feel more fresh. Thankfully, the two new modes they introduce at the end provide a fun challenge. But I find one of the modes too challenging, whereas the other mode feels too easy.
Perhaps that is why I am feeling disengaged from the experience…the difficulty of the game is mostly easy, though inconsistently challenging at times. There really is no sense of progression here. It all just feels the same.
But, really… That is just me nitpicking. I do think the fun ultimately outweighs the repetition.

If you are playing this game casually in the background, while you are playing other games, then it might prove to be a more positive experience overall. Personally, I took a two-to-three year gap from playing this myself. Only recently have I returned to it. And it is a great game in shorter bursts. Usually, I will play about three levels before switching to something else. And I enjoy the time spent on perfecting those three levels each time. If you are looking for something fun to play for an hour or two, look no further than Agent Intercept.
The biggest problem I am having is simply that I am eager to unlock the platinum. Therefore, I am ready for the game to be done. But that does not mean I am necessarily bored of it. I just feel that if it had a bit less stuff to do and more visual discrepancies between levels, it would be perfect.
